Question Files uploading in WinMX I don't have?

When it comes to WinMX, I am really a noob, I just started using it again (last time i used it was 2.x versions), currently i have 3.31 running, along with kazaa lite, I use WinXP, and I go through a NAT router to a Cable modem, unfortunately, the router forces me to use a secondary connection

I have heard of ghost files, but I dont think this is the problem, these are files actually being uploaded, THAT I DONT HAVE!, i did a search of my entire hard drive, and found nothing

the files I'm talking about are circled in red in my screen shot, there are a bunch more, but i have too many uploads, they are off the top of the screen

I noticed that they have unique names, and a large/small thing, they are in jpeg format, I suppose the bandwidth being used isnt much, but I still want to know whats going on

Like i said above, the questoinable files are in red, and the names are blocked out for privacy

(before somebody, namely skorch, complains about me only having 5 slots open, I have kazaa lite and winmx running at the same time, I am trying to balance out the minimal bandwidth I have (14k up) between the two clients, and the secondary connection is NOT my fault, my router isnt letting me go primary)

Here's a screen shot of todays uploads (I had to rotate it to fit it into the size req's, sorry for the inconvenience, and bad spelling of that word, just take your monitor and tip it over on its side)

One note to the mods if they see this, why do you have it 800x1000 pixels? wouldnt it be better to have it 1000x800? thats what most screen resolutions are like (ie, 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024,1600x1200, etc)

First of all, ty, I completely forgot i could VIEW what was being uploaded

Now comes the weird shit, I use winamp with the mini browser to play my files, thats the only program i use! it does show the album cover in the minibrowser, but it shouldnt save it

well, i followed your advice, i opened it, and clicked save as, it went to the folder of the artist in the picture, so i opened that folder, and guess what, no file, i even configured my system to show hidden system files, still didnt show, I did a search of my entire hard drive including system files, for all extensions, still didnt find it, this is really weird....

so that prob is solved basicly, now i know what they are........i have to figure out what is creating them tho, they arent even songs i rip with cdex....

you also answered another question i had regarding WinMX, where to start looking for a workaround to get to primary connection, but you only answered part of what i would like to know

if i start opening ports like this, doesnt it defeat the purpose of using a NAT router as a firewall? I rely on this built in feature as my only feature, and I WILL NOT slow down my computer with another peice of software just to make myself primary (ie, running ZoneAlarm or similar)

thanx for your help man, maybe i could give a little slack and stop bashing you in other forums :)

Ok, I switched to a primary connection (had to configure my router), but had to switch it right back

It was allocating half my upload bandwidth for keeping a primary connection, to me, this is unacceptable as my upload is only 14k!! (yes i tried to bring down the throtle, but it was all the way down allready)

btw, something I sort of touched on in my last post.....you have become much more tollerable here, when you first came, I couldnt believe how big of an asshole you were, but you seemed to have calmed down some, and are actually making a contribution to this community

the way I figure it, if somebody is good enough to get through a NAT firewall, then some software isn't going to help much, besides, I share everything I have on my HD really through a couple networks, so if somebody wants to take the time to hack into my mp3's, let em

nas, I used to like kl, but they started changing for the worse, and right now, it won't even install on my computer, my registry is wacked from dietk/k++/advanced version hacks, I've tried to find the source of the bad key, but nothing helps, I'll have to reload windows this winter break
