Weird...um can someone tell me why my folders all of a sudden started looking like this?
a better pic...
just change em. why do u have to announce it here that somehow, you fucked up your icons? go find a program called desktop architect. it'll make changeing crap as easy as pie.
Krell, Wonderboy! I think that was very rude of you, all he wants to know is why all of his folders switched icons on him. You should be ashamed of yourselfs.
Raztro, I sincerely have no idea why they switched on you all of a sudden, I used to have Windows Me, and I tried everywhich way to make the folder icons change, but I never found out how. Have you installed any knew programs lately? Try going into your folder options and screwing around in thier. All I can say is try uninstalling any knew programs you may have installed around the time they all changed over. I belive you can also get a third-party program that'll probably change the icons for you, try tinkering around www.Download.com and find one, then just chose the folder icon from Shell32.dll in your Windows directory. Sorry I couldn't of anymore help. Hope you get them back to normal.
you most likely just installed something that has a glitch. rebooting should restore your icons.
it has happened to me also but after a reboot it returned to how it was. If a warm boot does not help, try a cold boot.
hey Koffee Bean , those guys are ok. it's just how they are sometimes. don't stress. :-P they make good posts too...hehe
peace
Its happens to me sometime. Sometimes I get an Icon for one thing, show up as an icon for a different file type. Just reboot. It should load the icons properly. Although the picture looks like the icon is a distored Folder icon. If it is distorted, then its just a graphics glitch or something. Again, reboot and I think that will work.
You can't triple stamp a double stamp.
Krell rudely said. . .
So what exactly is your point?
Are you saying, that with the sheer amount of CRAP that you have installed, they arent supposed to look like that?
Or do you suggest, that you can make a screenshot, reduce the size to fit here, but cant seem to understand why you have a cummunist theme?
I think your full of it. reallyI didn't know that having 900+ posts and being labeled as a "Zeropaid BBS God" allowed you to act like a total prick. . . but apparently it's true! With all due respect, Mr. ZP deity, I've rarely read one of your posts that didn't sound condescending, rude, and falsely elitist. Maybe you've managed to bump up your total posts by rampantly insulting people (as is this case), or maybe you did it legitimately. . . I don't know.Rickio also mentioned. . .

Alsom, with all due respect to Rickio: I'd like to believe what you said, but haven't seen too much of the latter. If I do, I'll quit generalizing. . . but until then, a spade = a spade.
As for Raztro's problem. . . I've had similar glitches pop up immediately after switching screen resolutions. It's doubtful that's the cause, but something worth checking out.
Yeah, when I used to have WinME that happened a lot...just general icon weirdness..It never affected how the stuff worked, simply an aesthetic bug. Just reboot and it should be fine (until it happens again :-P).Originally posted by Rickio

On a second glance they seem to look A LOT like the MediaSeek icon, do you have it installed on your computer? if yes try uninstalling it if a cold/warm reboot don't help. And if still you're having prob's then just download Desktop Aritech like Woinderboy said. ; )
I do understand how you feel. In fact Krell has changed a lot. I am not simply defending him but encouraging him as I found the former version of krell very disturbing. I want to ask Krell right now, not to go off. It is such a waste dude.Originally posted by Bodhisattva/GoldenSilence

He really has helped a lot of people. I am here enough to really know and see what I am talking about.
But I would say of the 900 post he has made, only a small portion were helpful. In the grand scheme of life, does it really matter?
Let's all just make a go at being better. Me included.
Peace out!
Do they still look like this after you reboot?Originally posted by Raztro

I checked up a bit and found other people on forums who had the same problem. The following seemed to fix the problem:Originally posted by Raztro

"1)Change your display properties, then change them back
2)Delete your "shelliconcache" file,then reboot
3)Reboot to safe mode, then reboot to normal mode"

you are a bit of a sleuth Krell but he is also using realoneplayer and adaptec, so he might really need some help.Originally posted by Krell
Now before you get ALL bent out of shape, look at the programs on his list. ( read the following s l o w l y )
He has:
Java Runtime Environment,
Microsoft Visual C++ 6,
Netphone,
Virtual Drive,
Winamp,
Adobe Image Ready,
Adobe Photoshop 7,
Copernic Agent Professional,
Opera,
Object Desktop,
Peguses Mail,
Webshots Desktop,
Remote Administrator2.1,
SmartFTP,
Gnucleus,
Limewire,
Just to name a few!
So this guy can use ALL this software, probably bootlegged the Photoshop, and then needs our little help on a folder issue? I am supposed to just instantly believe that he is that dumb? Either way, if you install that many programs, you bound to have this kind of problems, and you know it.
So he doesnt know how to restore the default folder view, but he can do all the other graphic stuff, sweeeet.
I THINK he is just making a communism statement about zero paid in a passive aggresive way, instead of actually saying something. "Weeee look at my picies . . "
As for my posts, I never even look at that fucking number, now your comparing me to CCSDUDE? Why dont you use some of that golden silence and due respect, and STFU!
.
give him a break and or let's see what he says next.
Peace!!
That's pretty much the response I'd expect to get from you. As for the CCSDUDE connection, I don't get it. . . CCSDUDE is one of the nicer folks here, and gets no beef from me.Krell responded. . .

For future reference, you'll be getting silence from me (as you requested). . . but certainly not the respect.
Come on Krell, Why do you have to be so mean to me? Thank you to everyone else who has kindly tried to help. I will try your suggestions after this reply. I share this computer with 4 other people...Most of the files aren't even mine. I rarely have the time to get on anyways. And exactly what do files have to do with my politics?!? I am sorry if I made you angry. I just asked for some help.
