I was surfing around, doing my usual thing of watching the wires when I suddenly got a tonne of connection timeouts. I confirmed with Feather's website that TorrentFreak was, indeed, down. I refreshed the page a couple of times anyway to make sure and suddenly got a page I personally have never seen before. So I screen capped the site showing a black screen and this picture:
I figured the picture would be as rare as a picture of Houdini locking his keys in his car since it was probably momentarily down for maintenance for a brief 5 minutes tonight, but I thought, why not?
I'll admit, there was a moment when I thought to myself, "OMFG! TorrentFreak shut down???" Nope, not really. Anyway, the pic seems somewhat different to the rest of the websites theme which was somewhat odd I thought. The background of the normal site looks like what Conrad Blacks wallpaper (Canadian humor) might look like, but the down picture looks like something from a movie that involves leather clothing and burning rubber or something (I'm not slighting in the least, just trying to be funny)
Can't say it wasn't an interesting evening anymore in any event.
The pic is gone now.
"The connection has timed out. The server at forum.torrentfreak.com is taking too long to respond."
Strange indeed.

very strange, never really got into torrentfreak, never saw the need to
They had a great "Hall of Shame" sort of thread. It was a good place to compare notes...

I was told this morning that they are currently having server issues. I have my doubts that it was Slashdot related. Unless the entire internet decided to go to TF today, I'm kind of doubting that it would be traffic related since I know what kind of traffic they deal with on a regular basis.
Alright. A little coincidental though. By the way, Yahoo has been slashdotted in the past. And they have a lot of traffic on a regular basis.
