Does anyone know of any good file backup software? I of course prefer free, but if it's not to costly, I'm sure my company will buy a copy.
Anyway, I'm using a NAS drive for the backups, but MSBackup does not allow compression on the drive since it's not a TapeBackup.
I need software that will allow compression.
What A Twist!
I've heard Norton Ghost allows for fairly high compression. Have you tried that?
I'm fairly certain it does allow for incremental backups and variable backup parameters. The IT Admin was using it a few years ago at a previous work place, and she thought it was pretty robust.
Genie Backup Manager 8 is by far the best that I have used so far.
It allows for full, incremental or differential backups to a variety of sources, locally and across the network/internet. You have full control over the compression and encryption levels... plus it utilizes shadow copying so it can backup files that are resident in memory (open).
If you are interested in trying it out, i have a cracked copy on one of my ftp servers. Just PM me if you are interested.
