search results vs primary connection
well, it's quite strange... I get less search results when I have a primary connection than a secondary one.
I have ADSL (256k) and ZA Firewall running. Overall no particular problems... except that 3.1 is far more slow than 2.6. gotta try some mem utility.
When installing I choose primary connection because I read it was more suitable for DSL, more 'helping' for winmx community and, most of all, I could have quicker responses and more matches to my searches.
This morning I tried switching to secondary connection and now I have faster responses and - much more important - many more responses! It's exactly the opposite of what I'd expected.
Anybody knows why? Should I use primary or secondary connection?

interesting results
that sounds very interesting I will try and see also. I installed a app called maxMem found on the analogX website and it has helped me with winmx. Try it, it is a small file and freeware and you can turn it off when you think you don't need it.

seem that winmx uses a large amount of resources only when a primary connection is established. It does't slow down with a secondary connection. I tried the mem util and found some benefits.
I'm using both connections alternatively but I still can't find any benefits - for me, I mean - using a primary connection.
