Zelek admitted to using Limewire peer-to-peer software to make child pornography images available on the Internet from October 2006 to May 2007. Among other pictures, Limewire users could download sado-masochistic images of minors as young as 5 years old from Zelek’s computer. On May 30, 2007, federal agents executed a search warrant at his home, resulting in the seizure of two laptop computers. Subsequent forensic examination revealed 50,018 images of child pornography and 103 movies.

Limewire really has nothing to do with the story. It's thrown in there by media interests to turn public opinion against file-sharers. The guy would have found and distributed child pron regardless of Limewire.
I guess we won't be hearing much from CCSDUDE for a while.

It looks like the story got very limited local area exposure in Michigan. It originated from the Detroit FBI/DOJ website as a press release. I won't post the link... but it's significance seems to be that the guy was a major child pornographer and his main method of distribution was limewire. It's limited press/exposure makes it somewhat suspect here... the rep bomb is a judgment call..

I'm an avid user of limewire and personally am disgusted that stuff like that is available. Peer to Peer's been popular for almost a decade now and one story about child porn is hardly gonna surprise anyone or sway public opinion against filesharers. Hopefully it might stop a couple of idiots from using it to trade the stuff. Whatever, just thought you might be interested in it as I was.

Well, because it's a news story that deals with a P2P service and it's related to topics discussed before.
So, is the fact that I posted at all really that much more interesting to you than what I actually posted? Really Really?
Anyway, eventhough I've been coming to ZP since probably around 2001, I don't plan on making a career out of posting.
