Upload / download split

Following on from the 'should 56Kers upload' thread, how do you all split your up / down speeds ('m using edonkey by the way) . Should I even do this ?

From sitting and watching I reckon Ive got a max download of around 12. I played with the settings, and it seemed that people were taking more of my bandwith for uploading than I was getting for downloads, so I've set my upload max to 4, which gives me a max download of 12.

I reckon this is fair, I read someone say 1/3 of your bandwidth should go on uploads.

Whaddyafink ? Is this fair, should it be 50/50, or just leave it all at max available.

1/3 if your downloading alot and if download 1 or 2 mp3s or sumthin 1/2 and if not at all MAX. thats what i do.
