CBS cancels "Jericho" Despite its fans

In the age of "The Flavor of Love", "Rock of Love", "Celebrity Fat Ass Rehab" Ect Ect its hard for a good show, or even a great one for that matter, to pass the network mustard. Why pay millions per TV show when they can get idiots to show up and degrade themselves for almost nothing at all. Until people tune this trailer park TV out, the networks will continue to sling their poop at the masses. Its no wonder HBO and SHowimte are taking over the original programing market. Both networks put out the best shows on TV right now (see Dexter or Entourage) but its seems like the regular networks don't even notice that they are being beatin' at their own game.

Jericho, a post-Armageddon drama, was cancled once only to be brought back after the biggest fan out cry that a TV show has ever seen......and thats saying something! Yet after 7 new shows CBS pulls the plug yet again, unwilling to spend money on quality TV shows when the alternative is sooooo much cheaper. But are the networks seeing the "big picture"? The internet is where its at. They dont count how many times its been watched streaming online (cbs.com) or downloaded from iTunes, both of which have been very popular. The Nielsen rating system is broken! NO longer can it be used to judge a shows performace in this "on demand" video world.

One last thought: Have these guys ever thought about syndication? This was once the bread and butter of the network. Who the hell wants to watch re-runs of American Idol? I can't ever see it being a long term money maker like Seinfeld. If I had stock in CBS, NBC or ABC I would dump it now. Their long term business plan looks like poop!

Hard as ever and here to make you people believe...as long as there is one person to hold hope and dream...A GOD...will never die!

I am one of those people under the impression that network TV is set on a course to fail. I never bother watching it because the shows you get addicted to get cancelled in 10 eps

Sad to hear about Jericho being canceled. I never watched it, but I heard it was good. Well at least I'm doing part by not watching any reality crap. Seriously, why dose anyone watch reality shows? I watch TV to escape reality, not to watch morons stumble about and humiliating themselves or showing off how great they are at ________stupid activity; if I want to see that I can go to school/work.

Unfortunately I don't get any of the "premium" channels such as HBO or Showtime, its just never been worth the additional cost on an already bloated cable bill. Well, good thing these days I have access to the internet for any really pressing shows that I can't see because of time or lack of channel. I only use the TV for mostly 3 channels (Cartoon Network, CNN, and Comedy Central). I also watch Fox on Sunday night for The Simpsons, Faimly Guy, American Dad, and King of the Hill, and Monday for Terminator. The reality shit can go to hell I have better things to do with my time.

Doesn't Sci Fi run repeats of it all the time? Seems like it.

Man I admit to watching that dam show, and lately I've been disappointed.

I think the real problem is that it's kind of hard for the show to go on realistically after nuking some 23 cities. The writing's really sucked the last few episodes.

That's a shame. I actually sat through two back to back episodes for the first time on the Sci-Fi channel and got interested.
