    what is ISO?

    just as it says ...what is it...

    like i posted in a previous thread in another area....

    i tried to download an iso file or a zip.iso file... or whatever....

    is it a file or is it something else... can an all knowing computer genius or hacker...whichever is better... shed some light on what an ISO is....

    ok, here @ ZeroPaid if we have a topic going, normally we don't start a new one (no reason too, unless it gets closed). so check out these things and you should have asked this on the other thread.

    An .iso file is a CD-ROM image file that represents a whole set of programs and data as they will appear once extracted and burned onto a CD-ROM disc, using the software supplied with a CD-ROM burner. The entire CD image is stored in the ISO 9660 format with a file extension of ".iso". To be used, the .iso file must be first extracted and burned onto a CD-ROM disc using the software that came with your CD-ROM burner.
