    Newsgroups vs Bittorrent

Ever since the demise of demonoid, I have found it hard to get good quality torrents anywhere. I know that private trackers are the best, but I cant sign up as most are closed tight right now. I was wondering if anyone else has turned to newsgroups to get their downloads. Is it worth it?
My main concern with newsgroups is that I wont be able to find the things I want on them. Specifically, I am looking for sbos360 games. I would think that there would be a short amount of time which those games would be available and then it would be gone. That would pose a big problem for older games. Can anyone give an incite as to how easy it is to find older games and such on newsgroups compared to on bittorrent?

Just to put your mind at ease,I am a member of a LOT of private trackers and many top trackers....but do I use them to find what I need? NO!

I use newsgroups! Newsgroups have specific groups for a lot of subjects....alt.binaries xbox360 has TONS of new and old games. And there is no "seeding" or uploading, you can "leech" or download all you want because most groups do not want you to upload unless you know what you are doing.

It is also easy to request a game if you have posting priveleges...simply ask a question about the game you want and usually in a few hours it will be posted up and ready to download.

Newsgroups are MUCH better than torrents also in speed. You max out your connection download speed and it STAYS maxed out until you finish downloading the file. Can't even get that on top torrent sites!

The only thing about newsgroups is that you need to pay a premium provider such as newshosting or Giganews if your providers newsgroup access sucks in speed or they monitor you. Premium news providers such as those I mentioned, never monitor you and give you some of the best speed possible. Giganews is the best, but it is around $19.99 a month...still...not bad for a premium news server.

I use both and currently use BT with several trackers. I never dismiss a technology I can use in case it provides me with what I want. I still occasionally use traditional p2p such as eMule, Ares and DC++ too.
