After reading this entire thread how to get kicked off a crappy tracker
I wanted to comment but I didn't want to step all over their discussion.
I'm very glad I avoid that whole political bs while still somehow get pretty much anything I look for, all without private trackers.
The whole trading thing is too much effort for me, and pretty much nullifies any supposed security anyway.
Thats all.
Bleh
Nobody can start over and make a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.
Thats why I don't trade anymore. I would much rather give and receive invites from trusted people. Plus, giving is better right? Also, since I have stopped trading, I have gotten more invites than I was before.
NO ONE EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!!!
MI-BA-BLA-BA-SPLOSIONS!!!!
ZP'S MODDIN' MANATEE!
I have a total of 3 "closed" torrent community memberships, and that's good enough.
All I does is music, anyway.
On occasion I might snag a prog or game... rarely a movie. But most of those are available on 2 of the 3 I belong to, so it's all good.
“The martyr sacrifices themselves entirely in vain. Or rather not in vain; for they make the selfish more selfish, the lazy more lazy, the narrow narrower.” - Florence Nightingale
i think givers are better because when someone is looking to giveaway an invite they will look to give to another giver, rather than a trader.
but that is only my theory, i am no anti-trader at all
day by day the popular private trackers are becoming too harsh for normal user .
trading is a way to make life little easier.
some trackers just stopped opening for new registration.. some only do for money.
LOL...I have a total of 11 private trackers. I use all of them, but some more than others. I suppose I could part with a couple. My theory is you can never have too many arrows in your quiver.

yea i like way you think racknrail.
i have a few, i prefer the more closed trackers as i feel safer.
Teh secret to getting the trackers you want is to be social, don't beg and stay far away from trading. Then of course time and a little luck.
Use the trackers you have, including forums and IRC. Go out of your way to help other people with e.g. software problems. You never know how grateful or helpful the person you helped might be in return.
Don't discuss trackers that don't want to be discussed in public
DO NOT ask for or post URL's. Use the acronym that the tracker allows if you need to discuss something, and preferably don't do it on a public forum. It creates unnecessary UNWANTED attention.
DO NOT force friendships with people just so you can ask for an invite you want. I am pretty sure you all know what I mean by force.
Discuss the things you like, be it music, movies, games whatever.
Let's say you want a lossless tracker like BTMusic or E. You don't go and ask for it, because you will never get it unless you know someone that can get invites. You might even never get it, but...
Use the music tracker you are on.
Encode your own CDs to FLAC.
Use EAC to rip. Use the Accurate rip database.
Up your perfectly ripped stuff on whatever music tracker you are on.
Learn about the process. Help in the forum with encoding and ripping questions.
Make friends that share the same interests. Discuss music.
Discuss the lack of music you are looking for.
If there isn't a lack of the music you are looking for, then why would you want BTMusic or E.
That will make you a good member to invite. Simple as that.
Same can be applied to most any tracker.

Not all quivers are created equal.
Why sign up for a private site, only to find out that they use almost all external trackers, and then you have some other fucked up debit\credit system?
If I wanted to download a torrent from TPB, I'd bloody well fucking GO TO PIRATE BAY, and not join that shitty site. If I see EXTERNAL and RATIO and DONATE on the same page, I'm inclined to PM them and tell them to kindly go fuck themselves.
Don't fricken beg for donations and use everyone elses trackers.
.
These are good to excellent quality trackers I use, not shit ones. I hate credit systems too. I discarded my TV ***something*** account for that very reason, and that was just after joining. I don't like to bash other sites on the forum, but I have seen my share of shit ones.
I could probably get away with about 4 of the 11 I have. I like MMA, music, ebooks, and movies, so one tracker certainly isn't going to cut it.

I just counted mine. I have 22 (also ranging from good to exellent) and I'm not dumping anyone of them. They all have their specialty.
And BTW some credit systems are great. Try e.g. TTi (seeding bonus) or FSC (share index). They both give credit for sharing while still having normal ratio also.
And BTW I have never seen an external torrent on any of those 22 sites.

Good for you, now go sign up at http://torrentstorage.com
.
I just counted mine too. I have zero. Somehow I still manage to get whatever I want.
Amazing.

Well if that site really wants to become the next Demonoid, which will be hard, then the only way is if as many people as possible sign up and start uploading.
