Question Several question, Anon P2P and proxy servers.

This thread is also posted P2P Forums Just want all the help i can get on this one.

Recently my ISP (comcast) sent me 3 infringement notices. My client allows me to access G1, G2, ED2000 and BT and I fully take advantage of this. The Notices listed G1 as the source of the "alledged incidents" So now it is time to better protect myself and broaden my knowledge. Peer Guardian has always served me well in the past but nothing is 100% ,,, this I have always understood.

Shortly after recieving theses emails my client showed my torrent tracker (public) "h33t" as being down. I could more longer access the h33t index as well. I posted a question in a popular Q&A service in hopes maybe someone from the community would see and be able to shead more light on what was up with their server. Turns out it never was down and is still up and running. I have pinged them and time out. I have had people on my IM service test this site as well and the page loaded for them and I am still listed as being a member of the community. So I dont believe I have been banned for any reason nor have I gave any reason to be banned. In short I believe the my ISP is blocking me from accessing h33t and there tracker (which they have denied).

I have read in several forums of ISP's playing big brother to their users when it comes to P2P apps and sites. Some have even found ways around this via proxy servers. I have been researching the idea of useing a proxy and have found that there are many different types of proxys depending how you want to use them. Also I have rend that some of them actually will collect personal info such as user names and passwords.

Can someone give more information reguarding proxies. What are some good ones. Can they be used in P2P apps and do they hurt the networks.

On another note a few months ago I read something about Anon. P2P networks where being designed but where a long way out from anysort of pratical use. From what I've seen they sure have come along way. Of the four listed in this forum what can anyone shed light on them. Are any them actually being used? Are they able to actually able to be used with the existing popluar networks. From what Ive seen I2P does (tho i may be mistaken being sometimes I kinda only understand half of what I read).

Thx for any help in advance.

Go back and read the forums, this has been covered 1000 times already.

No NO No and NO, it's all there in black and white. No proxies and NO anon, forget about it.

We have a handy dandy SEARCH feature you should use . . . and when I say feature, I mean it works like most MS products, about half assed.

There, I just saved you 30 minutes in research and 2 days of checking this mind-numbingly-over-discussed topic for the same answers everyone else has found.
