The Earth: Flat Or Round?

Recently I stumbled across the website of the flat earth society.

Naturally, I was quite sceptical but taking time to read through the materials carefully, and analyse the evidence for myself, I am now a convinced believer.

Here is one example of the powerful reasoning used by these careful sceptics.

Once again, picture in your mind a round world. Now imagine that there are two people on this world, one at each pole. For the person at the top of the world, (the North Pole), gravity is pulling him down, towards the South Pole. But for the person at the South Pole, shouldn't gravity pull him down as well? What keeps our person at the South Pole from falling completely off the face of the "globe"?

Most definately flat, its also the center of the universe. Also the clouds are actually cotton candy and the base is actually a cookie crust.

well the gravity is coming from the center of the earth so thats why its pulling the person towards the center of it, just like a backhole.... gravity not from outside the earth... if you didn't take physics in high school this crap will fool u. defenatly a scam.

i never understood what the argument was all about...it's us thats moving in circles and blaming the shape of the earth for it. the notion thats it's round is the result of pop fiction, jules verne being a prime proponent of this blasphemous theory.

All mater exerts a force of gravity on other mater. This was proven by an experiment performed long ago and quite a few times since then to increase the accuracy of the gravitational constant. Anyway the way they were able to prove that all mater has gravitational pull is as follow. First they took a very dense heavy metal ball (I believe it was lead) and placed it in the middle of a vacuum sealed chamber. They then took a ball of much lower mass and attached it to a torsion balance to read any force acting on the smaller ball. What they discovered was that there was indeed a force on the smaller object. Using different masses they were able to come up with a gravitational constant that applies to all matter. So in other words we are all so fat we produce our own gravity.

If you want to calculate the gravitational pull you exert towards other objects or just how fat your friends mom really is heres the formula

Force = ([6.67428*10^-11 n(m^2)(kg^(-2))]*mass of the first object*your mass)/(radius of the second mass)

6.67428*10^-11 is the gravitational constant.

i say it is flat, simply because it has to be flat
