How many BT Sites do you use?

I've come back to using bittorrent lately along with usenet and am absolutely stunned at the amount of sites/trackers that have sprung up.

How many of you successfully use just 2 or 3 bittorent sites to satisfy all your bittorent desires from music to movies rare and new?? It seems as though there is a bit of a craze to sign up or get invited to every f***n site that pops up in case they shut down registration or their invite systems altogether as some sites have done...

    Anyone?

I have been using BT for a while and I find it very hard to dump trackers. I use about 20 different trackers now that almost all fill different needs. It can be overwhelming at times, but I really want to keep all of them even though I mostly only use 7 of them.

    well i regularly use Goem(dvd/hd rip movies/tv), TopHos(all), SceneFZ(name says it all/Romanian), Waffles(music)..
    weekly: DCTorrent(indian), Zamunda(russian/all), STMusic(music)
rarely: 10 other (too lazy to name)

rest just sit there.. waiting to be used.
i would love the rest to go away... and the sites who allow account deletion are not included as i have deleted my account... some got inactive over time... so just waiting until all the crappy trackers go away... i usually leech like crap to get myself deleted... but it doesn't always work. and sorry for confusion before i have total 20 not 25...

Honestly, I only use bittorrent for albums and I go to a website for programs. As for movies, I'm going to start watching them in theaters again, lol.

I mostly use 3 but there are one or two game ones that I think I would use once I get an invite to them. I'm no torrent expert and I only found out that there was such a thing a private trackers 6 months ago but it's really hard to find a site that has fast 360 games for sharing. I'll keep reading here anyway and I'll work it. Glad I found this site!

I try to rely on just a few instead of downloading enough every 6 weeks to maintain the account but some trackers have stuff no other has thus it remains crucial to keep your options open. However, the craze to get all the trackers is more of an e-peen issue than pragmatism.

2 to 3 very regularly and then about 3 more which I check every few weeks. I don't really need any more.

I really only use two, and both are public trackers - mininova and one other.

Whoa stand back! Common sense alert!

I busted someones balls recently about using a bajillion BT sites. Why? I've been at this a long time, and I used to check out sites and bench them against the blocklist softwares to see who had the most hits from the RIAA and MPAA etc. I could see which sites had what content and if I really needed 28 BT sites or not.

I'm telling you that signing up for all these sites is a waste of your time, you will never really keep up with them, and never really be able to keep fantastic ratios in all of them.

The whole thing is one convaluted fucked up mess, and there's been so much whoring and trading that one can hardly trust a "private site", in fact, there's really no distinguishing public or private in terms of blocklist hits.

Pick a few, stick with them.

Well krell, you may be right about the blocklist hits, but no one on any of the private sites I visit are recieving letters (that I've heard of anyway) like users of public trackers, and bigger private ones such as TL etc. This is what keeps me on the private trackers since I am in the US, well that plus speed, community, and accurate file info.
That being said, I have 3 general trackers I frequent, and 3 specific content trackers I visit, 1 for dvdr, 1 for flac, 1 for tv.
I have a normal home connection and have great ratios (not a buffer builder though)
The trick is to not dl everything in site, just what you want/need and no more. Do this and theres no reason you can't have a good ratio anywhere.

I have good buffer on all my sites, but that's because I have lots of space, use free leech to my advantage and usually seed 24/7 as well as not downloading just for the sake of downloading.

Well said. Especially the convoluted fucked up mess part
And then she asked me..."Will you come back to my place?"...and I said "Do baby seals make good throw rugs?"
