    Thumbs down Active Mode -_-

    OK, the zillionth thread about this and no NOTHING works. I have DC++ 0.691 (since 0.699 and further versions contain too many bugs according to several sources). I'm behind a router, I have Windows XP firewall enabled (with in the Exceptions menu, DC++ enabled). I have a Philips router (model CPWBS154-18) with firewall disabled (no need to enable this one).

    I've set up my NAT (port forwarding):

    * I can connect to hubs but not for very long
    * I can't search/download/chat with other users (including PMing)
    * some however manage to upload from me

    I have the same problem and been trying to get round it for months. Despite using BT and Usenet, I still like to use this software to browse through other people's shared directories rather than look for specifics. Problem with me is that I think it's the router problem but don't have much as I use my family's network. Was hoping this problem would end when I find a place of my own but it might not.

    The only reason I bothered to look at this thread again was because your name was on it.

    For one, the OP shouldnt use port 412, thats too low. Chose a port with 5 digits below 65535 when manually forwarding and use UPNP when possible.

    Also, they should use the one port for both TCP/IP and UDP.

    Yep, I'm still around. I've had like a 2-3 year spell without using DC++ myself due to university.
