Perhaps some kind of outline on what the project is and how its intended to work might provide some enlightenment, but all I see so far is;
Yeah, we think some people would buy stuff if it were available to buy, and we think people should be paid for their work.
But no mention of how to actually go about it using bittorrent.
Nobody can start over and make a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.
I read the artice. It didn't really say anything worth noting, as it has all been said before.
From reading it, it sounds like they're just going to become commercial and offer files that were previously unavailable for purchase. I don't see how it's going to be good for p2p, it just sounds like more of a business plan.
Yeah, I'm more like a wait and see, especially when your talking about two private trackers who rely on people giving them stuff released in the scene , for the most part, anyway. I mean unless it's somewhat vollintary, it will not work. Most people aren't that interested in paying for a download, especially people who frequent those sites. For me, if they really wanna do a payservice that will work, for music at least, it'd have to include a fuckload of stuff I can't find anywhere else, every official remix to any track I want no matter the label, etc. Otherwise it's free for me. As well if your gonna use bittorrent you better have a way to reinburse me for seeding the content back or it's bye bye kanzis. Mind the spelling.
I would pay for oink equivalent, but there would not be an oink equivalent if members had to pay. Plain and simple.
cept, i'm sure alot of non-oink members would pay for an invitation though. (many did sort of, aka paying your friend to donate so he could invite you)
