Hypocrite
Realist (Does his point have merit in fact)
In some news to hit the tech scene Mark Cuban is now calling for a complete block of p2p traffic in the face of unfair bandwidth theft by a few and tarnishing the experience of broadband for those who dont use these sevices like himself.
In the past I had interviewed cuban on behalf of the site During Groksters downfall at a time he payed for Groksters defence.

Mark: Yep. I download things to sample. I will either buy the CD or erase the
song. I also have no problem downloading songs of CDs I already own. I won’t
just download a song and keep it if I haven't paid for it somehow.

As a consumer, I want my internet experience to be as fast as possible. The last thing I want slowing my internet service down are P2P freeloaders. That's right, P2P content distributors are nothing more than freeloaders. The only person/organization that benefits from P2P usage are those that are trying to distribute content and want to distribute it on someone else's bandwidth dime.

I am leaning toward Hypocrite
I am really curious as to what made him change his mind though

I KNOW he is a hypocrite! No doubt in my mind whatsoever.
You either believe in p2p or you don't. But straddling the fence is gonna get splinters in your butt every time!
The AA's are WATCHING......YOU!! (And I DON'T mean Alcoholics Anonymous...either!) LOL!
What makes me turn my head is this little bit
The only person/organization that benefits from P2P usage are those that are trying to distribute content and want to distribute it on someone else's bandwidth dime.
So is he implying through both statements that he is a freeloader himself?

Definite hypocrite in my book. I also agree with drtoker. Fees are paid for internet service which allows bandwidth usage. So I'm not exactly distributing anything on someone else's dime. The only people who are would be those who use unsecure wi-fi connections, internet cafe's, or maybe if you uncap your modem, then you'd be using bandwidth on someone else's dime.
I think he's actually talking about things like skype and Bittorrent Inc.s commercial distribution scheme, uses that deliver commercial content by using their customer's bandwidth.
edit;
Nope, I was wrong. After reading all three of his blog posts on this topic it is apparent he really is saying that just because we pay for unlimited bandwidth (which is actually limited due to transfer caps) doesn't mean we should actually be able to use it for anything more than email or browsing, because that could possibly affect his speeds somehow.:icon_scra
Its difficult to counter his arguments, because they don't make any sense at all. It'd be like trying to convince a flat-earther that the world really is round.
Nobody can start over and make a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.
