if one was the #1 downloader at oink they would surely know how to get into any site they wanted
One might speak to admins in their respective irc channels.
Nobody can start over and make a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.
whats that?

If he has 'quite a few rare' music recordings then he should definitely catalog the rarest recordings he owns and mention those when speaking to the appropriate parties on the irc channel.
Otherwise, once he's able to get into them, waffles and what will be happy to have him.
Also, you might want to tell your 'friend' he needs to work on his people skills. DLing 3.4TB and only posting twice to the forums is, imo, more than a little rude. By his actions, he's basically saying "sure, I'll take the music you worked so hard to upload, but I won't talk to you." Not only will communicating give him an opportunity to show his gratitude, it will allow him to make the necessary contacts to get the inside scoop on the next refuge when the shit hits the fan, rather than being left out in the cold.
Enter8,
Thanks for the suggestion to catalog those CDs
In that user's opinion, saying "thank you very much" in the torrent thread is enough of a demonstration of gratitude, would you not agree? The user did that in about 25% of the torrents he downloaded (which total over 6,000). 1,500 'Thank you's are enough, without a doubt.
But saying "thank you' doesn't usually encourage much conversation, and the user rarely went back to a downloaded torrent's thread to check upon further conversation after his "thank you," so not much sociability occured as a result of it.
i'd agree that it's a demonstration of gratitude. but with many things in life, it's more about who you know.
My money is on the established trackers, like stmusic. If you like beta testing, then go for what or waffles, but startup trackers always have issues to work through, its just the way it is.

IMHO, the best part of the torrent community is not only being able to share or seed but mostly to meet ppl with similar music tastes, making friends, et al. I live in a distant city in Brazil, in which I would never have access to all such cool tunes if I was not involved in this strange, but fascinating, community.
I am sure someone with such a ratio like your friend had of FLAC files will be welcomed in any big music site, and a nice person to meet and know. Tell your friend it is good to post more than once, and also participate in IRC channels a while too.
And if he needs any good invitations, PM me and let me know :icon_pira
