Post Trent Reznor and Why OiNK Was 'The World's Greatest Music Store'

Looks like NIN's frontman did his music "stealing" at the same place as the rest of us, but didn't it actually make better music fans of us all?
Many of us are well aware of just how hip Trent Reznor is in terms of his love for music and how he puts his audience and his attention to the craft above all us - even profits.

Is it me or is he backtracking a tad from when he told his fans at the concert to 'steal' his music?

Sure, he has some good things to say about Oink, but everything else has a decidedly anti-p2p slant. At least that's how I read it.

Sounds like an internal struggle between being heard by more people and making more money to me. Businessman Trent vs. Artist Trent.

I didn't see it as an 'anti-p2p' slant, rather more as a 'covering his ass' slant, though they come off sounding very similar.

'Anti-p2p' is probably too strong of an adjective.

Farklefred, I think you hit the nail on the head. The guy is definitely a little conflicted.
