creating a bittorent site

How would one create a bittorent site?
I want to make a site that out does all the others out there.
Can anyone put me in the right direction?

Most of the time when this question gets asked here, the answers are somewhat discouraging (too complicated, too expensive, etc. etc.). I think though, that after today's tremendous loss to the filesharing community, anyone with the inclination to start a new tracker deserves encouragement. Lots of encouragement.

Start your own BitTorrent tracker

This is coded in C++. Most of the large trackers, though, are PHP driven. Learning the basics of PHP and MySQL would probably be the best first step to creating your own tracker. Saving up money is probably a good idea as well. You'll definitely want to find a country that's friendly to filesharers and host your server there (the last I checked, Sweden seems friendlier than most). You don't have to move to Sweden (although, if you could, it wouldn't hurt), you just want to find a Swedish web hosting company.

If you really want a kick ass tracker (and the world certainly needs kick ass trackers)

1. Learn PHP/MySql (or befriend/hire a kick ass PHP developer)
2. Earn some money or find financing (web hosting isn't cheap)
3. Find a subject area that isn't currently being represented well (music perhaps?)
4. Get a great design

This may sound daunting, but, believe me, if you've got the drive, it's all very achievable.

The easiest way is let someone else do it... Who wants to go to jail for no reason just because the MPAA and our Government have their heads so far up their own asses that they have to take out their frustration(probably cause by the minuscule size of their penises) on people who do nothing more than create a community to easily access all the information of the web....

The only reason I dont use it on my torrent site is because my hosting service doesnt like file sharing and would shut me down right away. Plus You might not get enough clicks on your ads and you will lose money from bandwidth charges rather than make money.
