I am still having slow downloads

    Hi,

I am using BitLord as a torrent client. I read the guide above and changed the port to 16881 and I am still having problems with slow downloads. As I looked at the rest of the guide it doesn't apply to me as I don't have a router yet. I am getting once this Tuesday. How can I speed up my downloads? It is taking days on out just to make it to 0.1 percent. Just think what it will take to get it finished. It shouldn't be like that. My speed of cable is around 4MB but close to 5. That is fast but I don't know about torrents. I am using Windows XP Firewall. Is that a good choice? Thank you all. Oh I had to switch to BitLord as uTorrent and the rest was slowing down my system big time.

I get good speeds using Azureus. If there is heaps of seeds I have had 550 Kb a second. All the instructions on setting your system up are on the azureus site. Oh, and make sure your firewall is open to your client. Hope this helps.
