Are you connectible (ie, are your ports forwarded properly?)

Have you tried using utorrent, at least for diagnostic purposes?

Also blue screen of death / resets suggest a hardware problem,, (even more likely as this is a newly built PC).
A couple of sites I've been working on if you're interested http://www.howtogetfaster.co.uk, [url]http://www.documentaries.me.uk[url] and a new startup http://thelocalseo.co

The grey smilies are just queued downloads that haven't started yet, by clicking Force Start, they are connecting to other peers and turning green. Don't think that's an issue tbh.

somewhere there is a settings screen where you can set how many torrents should run at the same time. look for that. by default its very low, but it can be set to infinite.

Voltrina is right u have to find that setting
from what i see u can only run 8 torrents at the same time maybe u didn`t made these settings and u have let azureus use the default settings , i don`t use azureus .. i used it once for a day and i have seen that it is able to make optimal settings for your every up and dwn speed i think that if u find the place were u can chose your ISP speed`s u will find the place were u can manually put the amount off torrent`s that u whant to run at the same time .
