Regarding the New Policy

First of all, let me be the first to applaud the decision to start banning members who beg for, trade or offer invites in the forums. Here here.

That being said, in all fairness to the many new members that may not read everything before posting, is there a way to broadcast this policy a little more aggressively so that it's less likely to be overlooked?

Ideally, bannable offenses should be up front and center in the registration rules, and, with the click box stating that the rules had been read, there's very little room for misunderstanding. If someone clicks the box without reading the rules, they deserved to get banned. It's the simplest, most straightforward way of making sure new members are aware of the rules.

Has anyone read the registration rules lately?

Software titles? I'm guessing this might be a little bit dated, yes?

Anyway, if updating the registration rules isn't feasible, then could the new policy at least be added to the forum rules and posted in a few different areas? How about a few "READ BEFORE POSTING" threads? I know this may seem a little overboard, but if a member is going to get banned for their first offense, it only seems fair that the forum go out of their way to make sure everyone is fully aware of the policy.

To be absolutely clear: at no point in the new rules did I say anyone was being banned. Until the rule is fully enforced, bans are not being handed out. BUT we will close and/or delete all threads pertaining to begging/giving/trading invites.

This is as far as I am aware. Obviously if someone is blatantly disregarding the new rules after have been given a warning, we can and most likely will ban them.

Yes I know it is a shame and a shock but now rep is meaningless in the invite sense. TRading is forbidden in any way shape or form in the forums.

I guess I was kind of hoping to see begger/traders get banned (immediately) and I let my wishful thinking color my perception.

I still applaud the direction you've taken. It'll be nice not to have to wade through all the bullshit to find real conversations.
