Would the adoption of female circumcision benefit the West?

I think we've all seen, heard others talk of it or gathered from newspaper articles that society has not been evolving in quite the same manner as technology.

Now clearly, some of the blame has to be placed in the social system we live in that has required families to consider dual incomes as vital. Women, forced out of the warmth and comfort of the home and into the brutal workplace where they will receive less money for the same work.

This has created a vacuum in our society.
- Children now go to daycares and babysitters. Learning still takes place, but it is inevitably of a social and educational value. The teaching of morals and good behavior has been reduced to a few hours at the ends of the days.
- Girls are taught to emulate the worst possible role-models. The Britney Spears, Paris Hiltons and Lindsay Lohans of the world. These are women to whom there can never be enough men looking into the gaping maw of their womanhoods. They cannot even be blamed though, as they are products of this same negative female role model society.

What can be done to emphasize the morality of the females of our society so that they can regain their place as the moral compass for the home?

Perhaps the answer is to look to lands in which women still hold a traditional role. Maybe the Middle East.. or maybe Africa. In Africa, society has taken to performing highly clinical female circumcision to ensure that ther young women are not being led astray by sins of the flesh.

I propose a similar system in the West.

I don't believe we need to accomplish such a maneuver as early in life as Africa... let the women make the right decision for themselves. Perhaps just enact laws that require women unmarried by the age of 19, or wives of an unfaithful nature, to undergo the wholesome procedure.

You might think so, but consider a comparison between the U.S. and Somalia in crime stats could prove interesting. You can see Google results here[pls to be ignoring result 4 on that link].

I could find no verifiable crime stats for Somalia, a nation that practices female circumcision. Millions of people just living in a Utopian paradise.

I understand your misgivings, but you have to admit they stem from your own wanton upbringing.

Had your own mother's clitoris been scraped off with a surgical sharp rock you would have the moral fortitude to welcome such a statute.

You know... there is satire, and then there is making a joke that is going to go over everybody's head and make light of a barbaric "procedure" in which women are dehumanized.

There can be a case made for male circumcision looking at public health, but female "circumcision" is just men holding down women.

male circumcision has very little to do with health, for any hygenic person. It is an old ritual that has no place in the world today. Look it up just like you did for females and you will find this to be true. Very barbaric mutilation.

I prefer to look at a male that has been circumcised than not. The uncut is just plain ugly to me. The first time I saw one, it scared me. I was like uggg what is wrong with ya dick.

I prefer to look at a female who isn't superficial enough to be grossed out by something as meaningless as foreskin. That type of small mindedness is just plain ugly to me. Every time I meet superficial women, it's scares me. I'm like uggg what is wrong with ya head.

And violence against women... not funny.

I understand ya point of view Enter, but I was young when I saw it and I had never seen an uncut one before; therefore it took me by surprise. He let me look at it up close and personal. It did not stop what was about to happen but it did delay it. I still stand by my original accessment, I prefer an cut to an uncut.
