    Tracker Checker Config File/Geeks Wanted

Alright, the other day I spent a few hours setting up the config for tracker checker so that it includes the sites I want and everything checks like it should.

Are there any other serious tracker checkers out there? The config file is xml, i.e., you can cut and paste/append files together to get a master file (open it in notepad).

My list is far from exclusive, but the links work, and if we can pool resources, we might have something substantial.

I'm attaching it. Save it to disk, change the extension from .txt to .xml and swap it out and/or append it to your existing trackers.xml in your tracker checker program folder.

Could you elaborate on this "file management" concept and how "in this kind of stuff" it might be helpful? Thx.

I don't use any software to check for open signups at private trackers but I guess you are trying to create a Master List of every tracker's signup URL? My first thought would be to visit every private tracker listed here or here. But maybe you are trying to avoid all that toil so I would probably try contacting HelenaP (somehow) as she seems to be aware of signups at some pretty obscure trackers, or some of the other regulars in the open signup thread.

Sorry I can't be more helpful but I really don't see the point of joining so many trackers. I'm a member at a dozen or so and I never use half of them already because it's just too much trouble to tend my ratios.

ps. why are TB and TD listed as uncheckable?

The previous version had this glitch that really pissed me off. Every time you minimize and bring it up again the window got a little smaller. After a while you can actually shrink it to just the title bar. Haven't used it since.

Tracker checker is actually a text string checker for webpages. All it does is confirm whether or not the sign-up page loads. TDs signup page always loads, regardless of whether or not the site is open. TB has no sign-up page to look for. It has a security code page to get past before you can find out whether or not the site is open.

I was under the impression that other filesharers might have sat down and added trackers to their config file and that this thread would collate the efforts of these people, but it looks like it's just me. I'm guessing that people are just using the mostly broken/non working config file that comes with the program- or maybe not even using the program at all.

The new version, fwiw, doesn't shrink. It does come with a crappy config file, though, where most of the links are broken.

Well, thanks to tracker checker, I have pretty much all of the trackers that do open for sign-ups, but there are one or two that I check for that might, at some point be open.

Snow tigers was open a few months back so I'm hoping they might open briefly again.

I think there's a chance Pisexy might open briefly.

I don't know much about it, but maybe bitspyder.

All pretty much long shots, but I still check.

Need any lv 4-5 trackers? I have quite a few I'm willing to part with, for people I think deserve it.
