Will the UK release XBOX 360 Elite have the new 65nm CPU?

Hi,

The XBOX 360 Elite is released in the UK in a few weeks on the 24th August. I keep reading about this red ring of death everywhere and I have heard that even the Elite is not immune. What's the chances that the 360 Elite I get on the 24th will have the new 65nm CPU?

I think the 65nm xbox 360s come out this fall and as far as I know they are not out yet. Microsoft has modified the design of the existing ones to fix the red ring issue and has extended the warranty so even if you buy one then it is covered.

Don't let the red ring issue you hear about scare you from not getting one. Just keep it in well ventilated area, and now and then use the vacuum hose to suck up any dust around the vents and it should not overheat.

Sephiroth, thanks for the advice. I'm not convinced an existing premium from a store would have the design improvements as it could be old stock but I'll happily get the Elite when it's released.

for $50 less then the elite, you can get the new halo LE box, it should have the most recent upgrades since that model is not on the market yet.
