ogg swapping
Sap'n
I'm a newly reformed mp3 user trying to do my part to use ogg vorbis (actually, I got hip a while back, but the software support is only now catching up). I'd like to use my favorite file-swappin software to trade .ogg files. Outside of setting WinMX to trade non-mp3 files though, there appears to be no way of doing it. Plus, that solution limits your searching power. No bitrate searching, no tag examination, etc. SO ... anyone clued in on how to get WinMX to do as I command?
Anyone got some good ogg swap sites?
Holla!

You can share ogg files.
In the transfer page
click on "shared type file"
and add ogg
in other file extensions

Ogg
Nobody trades OGGs yet. The general public is still on that whole MP3=good thing.
What I do is download 192kbps MP3s, then convert them to OGG. My entire song library is Vorbis. Saves me a lot of time searching.

the only problem with converting from mp3 to ogg is that you lose some sound quality. When converting to one format to another this always happens. So you should always use the source (cd) when possible to make ogg.
