Can't Tell If My ISP Offers Usenet...Help?

Ok, they say the news server is news.cableone.net and no authentication is required. Along with that is says a max of 2 connections at a time. Does this mean I can use usenet for free or am I still going to have to pay for access to servers?

should be free, but retention will probably suck if theres no authentication. My isp gives 1GB limit per email address (you use your email addy and pass to authenticate on their news servers).

For like 10 bucks a month you can get many more connections and 60+days of retention. If your into newsgroups I suggest a premium service.

I'm not sure if I'm going to be into them...I'm moving to a university soon so if they are safer I might shell out the extra cash to not worry about getting nabbed. Then again there should be a pretty good dc++ there...

I get unlimited gb's from verizon with at least 32 connections (as much as my proggie allows) bundled with my internet access.
