Incredible speeds on Limewire and Frostwire?

Ok, first of all, I'm sorry for not posting it in the Gnutella thread but since the last post there was in January, then I can safely assume that no one's gonna notice this thread there.

What concerns me is that I most often get really fast download speeds on Limewire or Frostwire. For example, just 10 minutes ago I decided to download "Hush" by "Deep Purple". After a quick search, I started downloading a 4mb mp3 file that had 40+ sources. I downloaded the song at lightning speed and had it in less than half a minute!

And this has been the case many, many times, these incredible download speeds. I'm just worried. I think I just got paranoid lately..

I mean my upload speeds could potentially be up to 130 kp/s (though I've only reached this through bittorrent), but it's not like I'd let my PC share music and bandwidth for a P2P app that doesn't even keep track of ratios, etc. Or am I wrong? Do some of you really do give away bandwidth just like that? To people that may or may not share their collection?

Well you have to wait until it the 'connection strenght' goes to either 'excellent' or 'turbocharged' before starting a search, otherwise you'll get almost no results. And you won't get that connection quality meter to get to those stages if you have something else eating up all your bandwidth, like torrents.

I never had that problem. Besides, uTorrent always does a check as to whether it's the default torrent handler. Most torrent clients do.
