Angry Kazaa hooks up my system

Ok, used the original Kazaa before from version 1.7 up to latest 2.02 with no problem. But lately when I installed XP pro Kazaa freezes the system. Strange 'cause I have runned it under XP before without any probs. Now it keeps hooking up and don't answer???

Anyone got an idea or have had the same problem?
need help:devil or I'm going crazzzzyyyy................

    Re-install Kazaa

If you've upgraded your system to XP Pro, I would just say re-install Kazaa.

You probably would have gotten (maybe) a little more help if you said "KaZaa Locks Up My System" or "KaZaa Freezes My System" rather than "KaZaa Hooks Up My System", which insinuates that KaZaa itself is arranging for others to give preference for your system at some social or occupational venue. Since KaZaa doesn't actually do this, most people probably just passed over your post thinking it was some loser talking about how KaZaa is the shit.

    ....lol

now back to the question, I have the same thing (my computer is FAST otherwise), but when i run kazaa lite with the speed up tool and part. tool, it slows down my computer, i havent used kazaa under anything other than XP Pro, so i assumed it was just how kazaa was

if you find something out, i would be intrested

(one note, its slow even when not downloading or uploading, just RUNNING!)

(one other note, I havent done SP1, so please dont blame it on that)

ok... try this: find the kazaa .exe file.
right click > properties > compatibility
check "run this prigram in compatability mode for:" and then select the last os you had it running on (well). if that doesnt work, reinstall kazaa.

    wonderboy, wonderful answer!

i did run it in compatibility mode for 98/ME, it seems to be much faster, i also disabled visual themes, i think maybe because kazaa is skinable it had a conflict, i know windowsblinds used to do that to me

i had known about this feature since xp came out, but never thought to actually USE it

    again, many thanks
