    k-lite megapack is the best it have all the codec!!!!!!!!!

    The vista codec pack is very good. I have installed it and now i can play every format.

    My vote is for VLC Media player. Only use codecs if VLC can't handle it.

    k-lite megapack was the best but ACE Mega CoDecS Pack is now my favirote it can play any format and it includes built in realplayer and quicktime player, and the installer is easiar than k-lite.

    I'm with ourthing2, you should use VLC or MPC and avoid codec packs altogether :P

    another good one i use to watch videos on media player is ffdshow
    try it out runs in the background when playing video files in media player
