    suddenly,vlcplayer won't work

i've used vlcplayer for along time, the best player there is in my opinion.however today, when i tried repeately to start it up,its says"vlcplayer has encountered a problem and must close.in the error report,it mentioned msvct.dll.it worked fine yesterday, and ive made no changes at all on my computer sincce then.ive tried uninstalling it,and then re-installing it(3 times)and even did a system restore, but no luck.i allso deleted all traces of the program, even through progam files, didnt work either.anybody have any idea whats going on or how to correct the problem?i really would hate to lose vlcplayer.many thanks in advance

Are you sure it says msvct.dll not msvcrt.dll?

But anyway, try to defrag. your hard drive then use a registry cleaner also before reboot to see the file is not damaged first!
