I would like to report an abuse of power i'm brand new with -114 points thats crap. Most of my post have been helpful. I hope a mod can clear this up. :icon_salu I think this is a great site and I would hate to half to leave because of one nazi
It's not an abuse of power. It's using their power.
Don't complain about negative rep. You'll just get more.

Its not that abusive, allot of senior members are simply intolerable to short, forgettable posts. Many feel that they are most likely an attempt at increasing post count. If you want to increase your rep its really quite simple, post thought provoking, funny, helpful or simply interesting posts those are what tend to get you positive rep. Here are a few posts that I have made that have garnered me positive rep.

Think of it this way, if your posting something that you wouldn't really pay attention to while reading a thread chances are no one else really cares about it either. I am not saying I don't make stupid meaningless posts, I just never get positive rep for doing so, but since I make them I rarely negative rep others for the same thing. Others however are not so forgiving and will only let it slide once you have proven yourself.
Anyone upset or offended by my post please follow the link and let your opinions be known.

I make stupid, meaningless posts.
But..... I use sharp wit and sarcasm. Sometimes that only takes a few words.
Don't sweat the rep. It can always be rebuilt.

i help ppl out and try to be a good impartial mod
it gets me some good rep too
but making short meaningless posts will net u no respect or just dislike
say something useful. or opinionated (with an argument to back it up) and at least ppl will build a picture of u, good or bad.
at least u wont be a nobody whining that someone neg repped u for being an unimaginative twit
and at least we will all have something good to read
.
Wowsers, -220 and counting. :) (chuckles to self)
Dont fret little one, its not like they can be used to buy ZP cookies or anything.
When I saw his rep plummet to -114, I nearly choked. I laughed for about 5 minutes and then felt bad.
But really, it doesn't matter at all... unless you are trying to get to the trading post anyway. As far as the regular forum, most people aren't going to look at your rep score before deciding if your post is valid or not. If it's interesting, or good info, or funny, people will still think so.

Hmm Jorge must've intervened, the cat has +250 now.
Somehow I don't think flipping from -100 or whatever to any amount above zero is going to be all that difficult around here.

i don't really get the whole rep point thing. Apart from allowing you into the trading post does it serve any purpose?? And you only need 10 points to get in there (i think). So everything above that is really pretty pointless.
Correct me if i'm wrong.
Well I would like to do some trading of invites one day. Plus a mod was telling me that he didn't take my post serious because I was -114 and laughed at me. I thought most mods would want people to join there site since forums work better with the more people you have on. Plus i have a lot to offer with in terms of computer knowledge that may help somepeople one day. I just never been on a site that has rep points and I'm a good person that problely takes things to heart to easily.
sammysam, you do realize you had +104 reputation when you made that post, right?
Although I smell the work of someone toying with us here, I think the overall point they were trying to make is that you shouldn't post just for the sake of posting - do it to bring about something positive, even if it's in the slightest. Spamming your way to the minimum twenty isn't exactly contributing to the community.
