Hey All,
I am a big torrent guy and I am in a few decent sites, however, my ISP keeps getting emails from the MPAA and ESA due to my "supposed" copyright infringement.
I was wondering, would it be worth it for me to switch over to newsgroups....
If I was, I have been told that newshosting.com has the best content. I am mainly interested in movie, tv, and xbox 360 related info, so as of now I am in related torrent sites, however I am getting a little annoyed with the letters but I am worried about content on these newsgroup sites as torrents usually can find anything you want.
Would this be a good decision to switch over to newshosting.com?
Check with your ISP before signing up for a service, they may have a decent news server, at least to give newsgroups a try before putting down money. It may not be as good as one of the pay servers but its decent for learning how it works and seeing whats available. The reason I suggest it is that newsgroups are not for everyone some people like them while others do not. Personally newsgroups remind me of IRC but that may simply be because its just as old. Good old IRC and FTP days.
Anyone upset or offended by my post please follow the link and let your opinions be known.

I learned the basics of newsgroups in a couple of days flat. With IRC, I never did totally learn that protocol!
It simply had too many symbols I needed to memorize if I wanted to chat with someone in a channel....then there was people acting like jerks in some channels.
Some on IRC were cool, but some had an eliteist attitude that apparently they thought you just could not live without being a part of their channel....well I got by just fine without them.
But back on topic, if you are trying out newsgroups for the first time, save yourself some cash and take advantage of the free offers some premium newshosting services provide like newshosting and giganews. That way,you can see if you want to actually pay to get a decent server if your ISP server is lousy.
Hmm well from what it looks like, private torrent trackers seem to be getting releases faster then giganews.
