Hi. iv just joined and im very sorry if i have posted this in the rong section.
ok im looking for someone that has a seedbox they would like to share with me cos im in desprate need for a seedbox.. i dont expect to share for free so if anyone here would share there seedbox with me id be very greatfull.
if not does anyone here no where i can rent a seedbox??
seedbox is what seeds your torrents. seedbox is a bittorrent client on a dedicated server
so u basically pay to seed ?? sounds fucked to me
.
lol.. well yea but no.
yes you have to pay but the download speeds for your members will be outstanding.. im talking like 400kb/s download speed..
so yea its good plus having this download speed will give your members more of a reason to pay do be a V.I.P member so they can access these fast download torrents
i pay for usenet access and my speeds are always maxed i can down 2 gig an hour
and never have to up anything or fanny on with invites and such
for 7 quid a month (just think of it as better net access)
seems like asking for trouble. dedicated seeding. whos ip will it be linked to
i cant say id trust someone who runs that kinda thing to not sell me out if they got leaned on
.
well your paying usenet for membership like you said well the reason why your getting that fast download speed is cos they are using a seedbox lol..
ok what is it to do with??
masterman, pm me. :)
Yes seedboxes and usenet are not related at all. Usenet servers are professional servers on huge internet backbones with gigabits/s of bandwidth. Seedboxes are where a personal (home) user buys access to a shared or dedicated server and uses the server to host torrents. This is a way for the user to get around they're ADSL upload speed. Also, it can be used as a way around legal troubles. If you lease a server that is hosted in a country where copyright law is not enforced, and use the seedbox to download the files and then take the file from the server to your computer, your effectively shielded.
Although, leasing a dedicated server is almost always more expensive than just getting a usenet subscription. To add to that fact, usenet releases are available before bittorrent ones, since the bittorrent uploaders just get their data off usenet.
Usually it goes in order like this: Private release groups -> private FTP -> Usenet -> IRC -> BitTorrent/ed2k -> other p2p progs

no ....if you were a member of FTN or ScT you would know that uploaders there have AXX . with pre-times ranging from 30 seconds to 5 minutes
i have a few seed box you can find them all over .PM me .i have few that are good
Fantastic thank you very much...
i sent you a PM
Okay... alittle ontopic/offtopic... usenet... I know what it used to mean (like newsgroups and such), but is it still the same thing now? If so, why do people pay for it now? Is there a good place I can read about it? How does the downloading work?
More on topic, I like the idea of seedboxes because it frees up my bandwidth and uses someone else's, but it's far too expensive from what I've seen.
