    Speed has dropped

    Hi

My download speed slowed down considerably about a week and a half ago and although I've tried a few things suggested on here I can't figure out what's wrong, it only slows down during the day from around noon (I never download in the morning, I'm not usually awake) til midnight then picks up to a more appropriate speed for my connection, during the day it's only going between about 6kBs and 16kBs then after midnight it'll go up to anywhere from 150kBs to 300kBs, before the speed dropped I was getting a pretty good, steady download speed of around 60kBs - 100kBs or more during the day.

I realise that the speed usually varies during the day but it's never been nearly as bad as this before, I've been using Bitlord for nearly 2 years and until now I've never had a problem with it, any advice would be much appreciated.

Do you block bad IPs? If you do, does it make a difference?

sounds more lie a microsh"ft patch

ive experienced a similair problem- usually when my system decides to apply an update

check your windows firewall is off (it has a nasty habit of getting itself turned on at update)

But make sure you got a decent firewall installed (obviously)

    then visit

    h**p://www.speedguide.net/

    and apply their patch

lastly make sure you havent installed the following programs as of late- confirmed issues with BT

    zonealarm

    AVG

    kerio firewall

all very Good programs but many issues with BT clients- disable AND INSTALL AN ALTERNATIVE- do not leave yourself unprotected

lastly make sure your ports are forwarded- something may have disturbed these setttings.. but these days with Unpnp and decent routers this is becoming much less of an issue....

:icon_thum good luck and peace out

OK, now it's going at a reasonable speed during the day until about 4pm then it drops to about 6-16kBs until about midnight when it picks up again, at least it's going a bit better in the afternoon but it's still frustrating the hell out of me.

How do I make sure my ports are forwarded?
