    PC Game Install Help

Hi, I've never done any torrent downloads, etc., but my buddy installed Azuerus, winRAR, etc., and downloaded a PC game for me (Fable: Lost Chapters, if it matters), and I can't figure out how to get the crack/"25-digit product registration code". I got the setup open (setup.exe) and I just can't figure out what file to use to get the crack. There IS a folder named "crack", which hey, maybe it's there, but in the folder there's only one file (Fable.exe) and when I try opening it, an error message comes up:

    "Runtime Error!
    Program: XXX
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."

    Anyone have advice or help?

The exe file in the crack folder is to replace the exe from installed by the setup at the directory the game is installed. Copy the cracked exe file first, then you can play the game!

BTW, edit your post & remove the filename of the game. It's is not proper to post the name of the game you downloaded. We don't want the site & you get into any trouble.

Thanks DigitalJunkie, but what do you mean "Copy the cracked exe file first", where do I copy it to?

Copy the cracked EXE to the directory of the game been installed! That way you'll be using the cracked EXE file to launch the game.

Also, use the EDIT button on the right side of your post & delete the name of the game. Don't forget. Have fun with your game. :)

Digital Junkie is probably right, but you might also want to see if the file came with a .INF file. Open this file with Notepad or other text reader. It should have detailed instructions on how to use the crack.

Yes but in his case it's best to use the one that came with the release. Using a crack for a wrong version of the game (for instance 1.2 instead of 1.1) will likely cause it not to work.

Since he didn't come back and post again, I assume he got it working.

I am seeing an increase in reports that Key Generators that (for one reason or another), do not function properly.
I am wondering if that wouldn't be an insidious way for publishers to discourage down loaders.

All you need to do is enter random numbers.
theres no crack, or keygen, just put random numbers and letters in the confirmation code.
It should have said this in one of the text files he downloaded.
Thats what I had to do.
    Hope this helps:icon_rr:

*EDIT* I just realized I responded to a post from like 2 months ago.
    DOH!
