Windows Serial Key problem

i currently have windows Sp2 pro installed, However i got the disk from my cuzin however he had misplaced the Serial key.

So i used the Free trail!

then i turned my computer on the the otherday and the free trail had expired,so i then

used the link on the windows activation box to gain acess to the internet, however i cannot access the rest of my computer i have searched high and low for a working key i have try

35 different keys includeing ones from : Torrentleech Mininova and ThePiratesBay


So i have assumed there is something Wrong either with my copy of windows or with the keys!!!

I have found one key that the computer takes a long time to check there rest are 5 second checks!!

Any help would be great !

Well, the key has to go with the same type of install cd. Many/most of the keys you'll find on bittorrent will be for XP corporate, while you would need an unused SP2 OEM or Retail key. What you could do is run http://magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml on your friend's computer that you got the CD from, and use the same key. Microsoft lets you use the same key for two or three activations, iirc.

That Prgram gave me the a key that i had found on the internet and it doesnt work :|

I'd say your best bet would be to "obtain" a new copy that comes with a serial/is cracked. Installing XP isn't too bad (well, not when you've reinstalled it as much as I have anyways :p), and it will probably save you from a headache or two getting your current install to work.

Only downside is you won't have access to "Genuine Advantage" content, but lord knows there's always a work-around, and you wouldn't have it on your current install either unless your friend found his key.

this worked for me to generate keys just make sure when u generate a key its for the right version of windows etc http://keznews.com/1718_WGA_Patcher_Permanent_Kit! it can also change u serial and let u get updates and windows media player 11 ie7 etc
