Apple could also, analysts said, follow a similar model with the iPhone that it did with the iPod: Apple may introduce cheaper, "lower-end" versions of the iPhone, much as it did with the iPod Mini, iPod Shuffle and iPod Nano. The 4-gig Nano is currently the best-selling iPod, not the more capacious, "original" iPod, now in its 5th generation (Digg and comment this)

The iPhone is damned pretty. I am definitely sold... although I am really wondering about the battery life. It is damned small and bright and pretty in person. I meandered over to the Apple booth at MacWorld after the booth was unsheathed and was wondering why people were cheering... I went to where the masses were grouped, and there it was.
This may be the start of something awesome. You need a paradigm shift to start technological advancement, and phones were becoming stale and the same.

I'm sure others will come out with new models to compete with iPhone! Cingular? Don't think so.

I was also wondering about battery life. If it's anything like the iPod, I think I'll pass.
Now stop being so freaking nice, and buy a stun gun. - Krell
The battery is not user replaceable right? Has to go back to the store to be replaced?
Most people who travel a lot or have super long commutes carry extra cell phone batteries just in case. I think this might be a big problem with the iPhone.
Have to admit though, it does look sweet.
