AV Capture from Sony Digital Camcorder

    Hello all,

new to this so please forgive if I ask wrong questions.

I am using nerovision to capture Digital footage (DV Tape) from Sony digital camcorder.

On playback or burning to DVD the images are very jerky and not at all smooth (not camera shake).
(Just a thought, would other applications (eg limewire) working in background be the potential problem ?)

Is there another software that will give smoother transition.

Also what do you guys reccomend for DVD "Backup" of films etc downloaded via limewire ? (Adain I use nerovision express)

    All assistance gratefully accepted,

I have to use firewire for capturing my video. You're using that and not usb, right?

I use adobe premiere to capture my video and it's always perfect. Maybe try that or the elements version.

    VirtualDub

You only have as many codecs to chose from as you have installed.

You may want to get the Ace Mega Codec Pack etc and install that first, then get VirtualDub.

"I am using nerovision to capture Digital footage (DV Tape) from Sony digital camcorder."

Something about this bothers me, are you saying "transfer and convert" or capture streaming, as it is happening?

If you already HAVE the file captured, and just want to burn it to DVD on the PC, thats a different story, be more specific.

    Hello lads,

I am using USB and dont even know what firewire is to be honest!

To Krell I am just capturing the dta by having the camcorder on "play" and then capturing video on Nero Express.

    Hope this is clear !

I think you should get yourself a firewire cable, that is what Sony tells you to use when capturing video from your camera.

    What is your camera model?
