Kazaalite problems...

I couldn't find any info on this... it's slightly related to your typical dorm connection problems cept for the fact that I can connect, search, and add files to my download list. My problem is that once I want to start downloading the file it will connect to some people with the file, wait a few seconds, and then it'll say "more sources needed"... it does this for everything. Even files that have like 400 users available to download from... is there any reason this is happening and any way I can fix it?

Do you have a soft firewall up? I'm sure your school has there own hard firewall in place....that could be your problem. Have you tried HTTP tunnel with the same results?

I thought of the firewall thing so I turned mine off... I know my school(like almost all other schools) blocks file sharing stuff like Kazaa... I tried HTTPTunnel but I couldn't even connect at all with that... last night I managed to download one mp3 so for some reason I can connect to some people and not others. It makes no sense to me.

Just keep in mind if you do get it working, the school will almost surely find out and some kids from my area have gotten expelled for file sharing on school property. Keep that in mind....

Packet shaper? Notbob is right on with that shit.......if your getting files sometimes and other times you don't get anything.....makes it seem like the IT is watching it. So he catches you once then twice, misses it...ect.

Watch out....play it safe and have any friends with high speed connections outside campus send you files you request via Trillian......and skip out on Kazaa till whatever the damn RIAA has done is settled down....

Anyone remember the post/link someone put up to a site talking about how the RIAA was sending out little packets to colleges? Sounds like your's got hit by that shit....
