Black & White DVDs? Help!

Can anyone tell me why sometimes when I burn a DVD from files I got from a BT file the movie(s) comes out playing on my DVD player in black and white and the screen is chopped off? Anyone know what this is? Is it my player? Is there any way to fix this or avoid it? Is it the ripper of the DVD that didn't remove the protection that's causing this, what?

There have been times that I've burnt a movie and its come out just fine. So what's going on?

With the Ace Mega Codec Pack you can use G-Spot or AviPreview to see what the file properties are - 29.97 etc, and use the various players you get with that installation.

Open the files in the folder on the hard drive and play them before you burn them. That way you dont waste your DVDs with crap, which the internet is 99%.

Any decent DVD player for your PC will let you play the file from a folder.

There is no such thing, and if you are the ripper, all you need is DVDShrink, and DVDFab Decrypter.

It looks as if your DVD player is set to switch the video output TV standard between NTSC and PAL according to the frame rate of the DVD disc that you put in it. If the output standard of the player is set to "automatic", rhe player will switch to PAL when the DVD frame rate is 25 fps, and to NTSC when the frame rate is 24 or 30 fps.
You probably don't have a multistandard TV, (that is whay the picture is B&W and stretched vertically) so just go into the DVD player setup menu and select either "PAL" or NTSC" but NOT "AUTO" video output according to the type of TV that you have.

The downloaded video usually have the copy protection removed already! If you live in the U.S.,, you should check to see the video downloaded is in PAL or NTSC format first. For me, I like to convert them to NTSC format even though my DVD player can play both formats. I, make sure it can play 100% at all times even if I have to get a new TV or DVD player to replace old ones! Otherwise, you would have to find it in NTSC format if you can.
