MPAA: "you can't convert your own DVDs"

The MPAA takes another swipe at fair use rights and aims to stop users from being able to convert DVDs that they own.

In another nonsensical move by the MPAA, Load 'N Go Video has been sued by the MPAA for "illegally" converting users' DVDs and them loading them onto the users' iPods for them.

The MPAA blows... They got me kicked off my ISP years ago when i first started using emule because i was sharing Raiders Of The Lost Arc for like 2 months straight. (hey, i didn't know) and they filed a complaint so i lost my dsl. Like Spielberg doesn't have enough money!

There is a big contradiction in the DMCA which states it's legal to make a backup of a something you own, but it's illegal to circumvent the copy protection to do it.

I think the illegality comes in because since it's illegal to break the encryption program to make a backup copy of something, the problem with this company is that they are not only breaking the encryption they are making a profit off of breaking the encryption, which is also kind of not exactly allowed under the law I'm sure because it's a profit rather than personal use.
