Getting lost on first day here!

I wanted to post this somewhere near "Beginner's Guide to p2ping", but couldn't find a "post new thread" there. Anyway, maybe someone can move this to the right place.

I am 100% new to PtoPing (sounds kinda like a scatalogical joke, but what do I know?). Anyway, I need help!

Following instructions in a forum message I found, I went to the K-Lite Codec Packs page, selected a mirror near the top of the page. Then, I scrolled down looking for "K-Lite Codec Pack 2.27 Full" but could not find it.

I did find and selected "K-lite Codec Pack 2.72 Full (18.2 MB) then selected "Codepack.nl/klcodec272F.exe" and downloaded it.

I have not yet run the .exe file since I'm not certain I have the right one. Could someone please tell me?

Really, your set up pages just aren't too clear, especially to a newbie in p2ping. Perhaps you could simplify your instructions to brand new people?

In any event, after I run the KLcodec 272F.exe file, will I run into more technical instructions which might require writing another post? I know I could simply open and run the file but am a bit fearful playing with something entirely new to me. All I want to do is join this group so I can obtain music...and make my existing music available to others.

for ease of use and better features just get VLC the video lan client media player, it will play just about anyhting
