    Al-Qaeda warns Canada

OTTAWA - An al-Qaeda strategist has warned Canada to withdraw its troops from Afghanistan or face terrorist attacks similar to 9/11, Madrid and the London transit bombings.

The threat, attributed to a member of the al-Qaeda information and strategy committee, condemns Prime Minister Stephen Harper for refusing to pull out of Afghanistan.

It also refers to Canada's "fanatic adherence to Christianity" as well as its purported attempts to "damage the Muslims" and its support for the "Christian Crusade" against al-Qaeda.

"Despite the strong, increasing opposition to spread its forces in the fire of South Afghanistan, it seems that they will not learn the lesson easily," Hossam Abdul Raouf writes.

"They will either be forced to withdraw their forces or face an operation similar to New York, Madrid, London and their sisters, with the help of Allah."

The document, written in July, was obtained and translated by the SITE Institute, a U.S. non-profit group that monitors terrorist Web sites for clients, many of them in government.

It is the second reference in recent weeks to al-Qaeda singling out Canada because of its role in Afghanistan.

m pretty sure they don't need stale baguettes. They are intimidating enough with that accent and demeanor.

Hey we french canadians (at least from manitoba) are the ones who invented shooting from cover, before the riel rebellion everyone just marched in straight lines.

Although I cant talk for Quebec, those seperatists are probably behind the plotting of these attacks.

The whole Louis Riel red river thing was easily one of the most interesting things I have ever looked at in social studies.

If we can take Shawners as the typical American ally we went there to support, let's bring our troops the fuck home.

We've lost too many lately for that.

At the rate they're being killed? 42 this year so far, whereas 4,000 have died in automobile related accidents. Safer in Afghanistan than on Canadian highways.

Its in support of NATO, its a unified NATO mission under complete NATO command and control.

However, I do think we should all leave that hellhole however and let it digress back into the 12th century that the people there seem so determined to do. If you cant explain to a guy why women should get a frickin education, or that flying a kite for heavens sake is not blasphemous at some point you have to just realize that these people are literally insane and leave them be.

Its like the French, the proverbial heart of intellectualism, have said, that some people havent advanced as society to be able to handle the advanced concepts like free speech, equality, and tolerance. No amount of ammunition can pierce the thick walls of ignorance and indifference.

If we really want to do something far more effective then we oughta quit propping up these stupid countries with billions of petro dollars each year and seek out either alternative fuels or new domestic sources like the Canadian oil sands http://www.cos-trust.com/. Guess we want to use everybody's oil up first and save our own for last.

Its kind of ironic when you think about it, the americain economy depends on oil, but that same oil feeds their enemies. It makes me think of the image of a snake eating its own tail.

Under the NATO agreement an attack on one member is considered an attack on all. I don't see how that differs from saying Canada [and all of Nato] went there as a result of 9/11.

Canada was one of the handful of countries that took over patrolling the south of the country at the end of July. Most of our fatalities have been since then. To be perfectly clear, it wasn't always noticable we were engaged in a war until then.

While I won't expect more than 3-4 Americans to fellate me for my country's help, I'm not incredibly amused to see our forces mocked by those we went there with to show solidarity.
