    Cool Stopzilla

Do you people have any pros or cons about a program called Stopzilla? I just ran across and it had good write-ups.

Damn..if it was a question on Jeopardy, it has to be good.

Personal experience, there are far better programs than Stopzilla and most are free(*).
Spyware Doctor, SpySweeper, CounterSpy, Windows Defender(*),
Spybot S&D(*), Ad-Aware SE(*), SpywareBlaster(*), SpywareGuard(*),
All-in-one SecretMaker(*), Yahoo Toolbar with free Norton Anti-Spy(*),
    Ewido Anti-Spyware, SUPERAntiSpyware(*), Spyware Terminator(*),
    a-squared Free(*), PestPatrol.

Those are the ones that I would reccommend. It usually will take 2 or more free programs to remove
everything. It's good the have real-time protection also.

Used it for about a month some time ago till I found it was loaded with ads and pop-ups itself.
    Trash it.

Stopzilla never has been a trusted company. There has been many reports about it causing many computer related problems and it is hard to uninstall. It displays ads and gives you many false positives. Stopzilla is also know to use spyware such as CWS to display ads for itself. It uses rogue online advertisement methods to get people to install the free trial. Doesn't really work untill you buy it. After you buy it, then it still performs less than what most of the other freeware softwares do. It has a nice appealing interface that lures people to use it. Yes it is very popular, but worthless.

I would stay far away from it. Read the user reviews at Download.com
