Who forces to update. I'm using some older version of DC++ with zero problems. Nothing can compete with DC++ when it comes to available content and speed.

Now that we've gone ahead and fanboyed alternative networks and such... does anyone know of an alternative Direct Connect cleint, as this person has asked for?

On the note of othr networks, I betatest a mos called eMule Plus.

I'm trying RevConnect right now and it is less buggier than the new DC++ but I cant seem to download any hublists o my dialup connection. Still looking for alternatives....

You are in a wrong hub. You need to find a hub that requires it's users to have a minimum of 10Mbps upload bandwidth. You can get blazing speeds on a hub like this when downloading from several 10Mbps+ sources simultaneuosly!

Doesn't that mean that you'd have to have a 10Mbs upload to join those hubs?
A couple of sites I've been working on if you're interested http://www.howtogetfaster.co.uk, [url]http://www.documentaries.me.uk[url] and a new startup http://thelocalseo.co

    Yes it does.
There is no alternative client to DC ++...Different hub owners will require you to have their brand of DCC client 8 out of 10 times.

Glad to have a voice of reason around.

Well, sure, but if you want fast speeds you need a fast connection...

    45kbs upload cap here :\

    I can't even download at 10mbs.

I can get around 830kbs on some private BT sites and Usenet though, which is why I personally don't benefit from DC++ given my horrendous upload circumstance.

Excellent answer to the question posed.
