How 2 Change BitTorrent programs in progress downl

So I am switching from Azureus to uTorrent to see if uTorrent works better for me. However, I already have a bunch of files downloading in Azureus and all the torrents and partial download files are in My Documents.

So is there a way to start up uTorrent and have all my dowlnoads continue where Azureus left off with them? So say one of my movies is 35% done, how do I get uTorrent to start the dowload where it left off in Azureus? Hope this is making sense.

Also, when I load Azureus all my seeds are at the bottom which helps my download rate, how do I get these seeds in uTorrent as well?

just think in terms of loading the tracker in the client server of your choosing. Close all client servers and then pick the one you wish to use. Next load the trackers into the client server, be it ones you wish to leech or ones you wish to seed.

Very easily, you have it resume the file where your partials are in. You have to have the original torrent file or get a copy again, and load it in utorrent. It will ask for the directory, you direct it to where your partials are. It will do a hash check and then resume. I seen a few programs do this, and they may make the progress go down. Say your at 80 percent with azureus, and if you switch. uTorrent will or may not say 50percent complete. It happens. You should wait and finish with azureus. I can tell you must be on a public tracker or torrent site, and thats why the files are not finished and your ready to load it in uTorrent.

The easiest way is to just complete in Azureus before switching. I mean, do you absolutely have to switch RIGHT NOW? "I cannot possibly wait another hour to switch to uTorrent!"

Put all the current downloads in your new assigned uTorrent download folder and open up the torrents again. It will check for the file and continue as is.

Thanks, but I've already done this yesterday. I got it. And for cjules13, it wouldn't be another hour I would have waited, it would have been days. I am downloading a lot. but thanks, I got it figured out and everythings running smoothly in uTorrent.

So.... how do like uTorrent compared to Azureus now that you've switched?

and days? wow - do you have broadband? If so, we need to get you on a private tracker so you average around 400kB/s down... have movies finished in minutes, not days.

More so not the client issue as much as the user issue =) Swith to private sites, and it makes any torrent client shine.

yeah, I'm on broadband. uTorrent seems to go faster. I am on Demonoid private site but it is still slow for me. And all my settings are correct and the ports are forwarded just fine. It does take days to download my movies, but it is the torrent side that is giving me problems. People aren't seeding or something. uTorrent CAN get all my downloads to download a total of 300KB down but never one file that I download has ever gone over 100KB down.

Demonoid isnt fully private and people dont have fast connections or will limit their connections. Im not sure if people get banned for low ratio or if they use a ratio cheat program.
