    Limewire's speed

    Ok, i've gone to various forums reading topics on how fast there limewire download connetion goes. I test my download and upload speed at a site which gives the following result:

    download = 603 kbp/s
    upload = 140 kbps

    But can just about reach 40 kbp/s, averaging aroun the 20 kbp/s mark, and i was wondering if i must have my configurations wrong or wotnot?

    Regards,

    Joe

    1. Are your ports properly forwarded?
    2. Do you use a firewall?
    3. Did you put a limit on your speed?

    Other than that it might be that there are simply not many peers to download from. Limewire and Gnutella in general is also not the fastest network...

    Who is ISP and are the speeds you are supposed to receive.

    Also use this site for speed tests http://www.dslreports.com/stest and chose the area closest to you.

    Basically if you haven’t already, check out the official FAQ here. http://www.limewire.org/wiki/index.p...sked_Questions

    You may also want to try frostwire which is basically Limewire Pro here:

    Instead of Frostwire, just download limewire pro off of limewire... so much more easier.
