    computer crash

Hi i've been having this problem now for a long time i've even re-installed windows and started from scratch with everything (not popular with the kids). The problem seems to be very intermittent and only seems to happen with bittorrent. Sometimes i can download for hours sometimes minutes before the computer crashes, on restart i get an error message telling me the computer has recovered from a crittical error. I am running XP with 512 of memory also got Norton internet security installed, not sure if any of that is relevent. Has anyone heard of this problem before or got any ideas, i can't begin to tell you how frustrating it is. Cheers all.

Sounds to me like, you may have hardware issue(s).

Give us more info, such as maker of your PC, what kind of CPU, video card. First thing you may want to do, is update your device driver(s) to latest version from those manufacturer's site!

I would recommend disabling or uninstalling Norton Security. It is a resource hog anyways, and also it may have rules created that are interfering with BT. I have used Norton security and it can actually be too thorough in blocking applications.

DJ is probably right though. I would definitely check your hardware. Just seems odd to me that it only crashes with BT though. I would also recommend trying a few other BT clients and see if it still occurres.
